The Technology Architect is expected to have a clear understanding and experience of the current component architecture of the Technology Stream within Symbian OS.They must also be aware of overall customer requirements and technology trends in the industry.

The role of Technology Architect is to drive all technological aspects of Symbian OS for particular elements of the Technnology Stream (e.g. graphics, UI frameworks etc.) This includes evolving the current, and future architecture of the components. Technical Architects interact with various stakeholders within and outside Symbian to ensure that Symbian OS fulfils the deliverables set out in the product strategy.
